Recap of our 2-day all-hands workshop and retreat

Hi everyone,

After nearly 5 years of working entirely remotely, we finally moved into our new office in Munich about three months ago. Over the past year, we've welcomed several new team members, and this retreat marked the first time we all came together in this new setting. It was already a huge success that we managed to find a time that worked for everyone, including our remote colleagues Felix from Canada and Johannes from Portugal. 🙌

Day 1: Workshops and team building

Our retreat kicked off with a hands-on workshop. This session was designed to provide us with valuable insights into various company-related topics. It was inspiring to see our team members engaging so enthusiastically, sharing their ideas, and working together towards common goals.

We also took time to discuss our company’s growth and the changes that come with it. As we expand, we understand the importance of adapting and evolving. In addition to the workshops, we enjoyed team-building activities that allowed us to bond on a more personal level.

Day 2: Review and concrete plans

The second day began with a review of the key takeaways from Day 1. We reflected on the insights gained from the workshops and the progress made in our team-building efforts.

We also developed concrete plans for the future, setting clear objectives and outlining actionable steps to achieve our goals. This structured approach will help us stay focused and aligned as we move forward.

Excursion and food places

We also organized small excursions to explore Munich and discover some great food spots. Food played a significant role in our retreat. We visited several fantastic eateries, enjoying delicious meals that catered to all tastes. And, as usual, we made a few visits to the ice cream shop just around the corner from our new office. 🍦

Reflecting on the experience and looking ahead

This retreat was more than just a series of meetings and activities. It allowed us to connect, communicate, and collaborate in ways that are difficult to achieve remotely. Many colleagues, who had never met in person before, had the opportunity to finally do so. Meeting as a team of 11 for the first time was truly fantastic.

We are aware that the transition period may bring its own set of challenges. However, the enthusiasm and commitment displayed by our team during the retreat give us confidence that we are ready to face these challenges head-on. We are excited about the coming months and are fully prepared for what lies ahead. 🙌

Best,
