Atlassian Community Munich - Summer Edition

For more than fourteen years now, the Munich Atlassian Community (ACE) (previously known as the Atlassian User Group Munich) has been a vibrant community.

This community of around 500 members are connected virtually, and it had its third in-person meeting this year with four presentations and lightning talks. We had the opportunity to network, and of course have some pizza and beer. About 40 people came on-site and had a nice evening at TNG Technology Consulting, Munich.

ACE’s journey

First, Gerhard Müller, former co-founder of TNG Technology Consulting, gave us some interesting insights into the history of the Atlassian User Group from 2010 until today. He spoke on behalf of all the co-founders of the User Group, including Christian Koch (Lively Apps), Bernd Lindner (Siemens), Andreas Schmid (TNG) and Leo von Klenze (Scansation). Since the end of 2023, the former organizers have handed over the management of ACE to Max Förster (K15t), Johannes Tegethoff (Scandio) and Benjamin Krauss (TNG Technology Consulting), which is very helpful because the younger generation brings some fresh ideas.

Highlights

Frends, a Finnish company, introduced their low-code automation platform

Why it fits into the Atlassian ecosystem perfectly? - it simplifies integration with third-party software, and we know this is always a challenge. Fun fact: ex-Atlassian and former Partner Manager for Germany Robert Panholzer is now part of Frends. Robert has supported the Atlassian User Group for a long time now, and it was nice to see him again.

Current state of Atlassian Forge

We got some technical insight into the current state of Atlassian Forge, which is the future way to develop applications for Atlassian tools. Eckhard Maas (TNG) and Matthias Bertsch (TNG) did a great job explaining the idea of Forge and the current state, including pitfalls, to the audience.

Finally, Klaus Kilving (Opexa) showed the potential of Atlassian Confluence as a tool for ISO27001, Nis-2 documentation and presented his offering in this segment as a lightning talk.

It was a very nice evening, and we are all looking forward to the next event. Lively Apps will continue to support ACE Munich with presentations and sponsorship.

Best,

Christian from Lively Apps
